THIRD QUARTER UPDATE

After a return to the 19, Smith under center hit Bowe on an out route for 21 yards.  Smith hit Davis from the backfield for a yard loss on first down.  Smith on a keeper went for 13 yards and a first down.  Indianapolis was called for holding on first down (Bethea).  On first down from the Colts' 43, Smith from the gun handed to Davis for short yardage to end the period.

After a Brazill return to the 20, Luck hit Brown on a short pass that Brown took for 25 yards.  Luck up-tempo from the gun scrambled and hit Brazill for 30 yards to the KC 25.  Luck missed to Rogers near the KC goal-line on first down.  Brown on a delayed draw ran for 13 to the KC 12.  From the gun, Luck missed to Brown on first down.  Luck hit Fleener for 12 yards and the third TD of the quarter.  Kansas City 41, Colts 31.

Smith hit Bowe for four yards.  Davis ran left for no gain.  On third-and-six, Smith ditched the pass to bring up fourth down.  Succop hit a 42-yard field goal for a 41-24 lead with 4:12 left in the quarter.

Darrius Heyward-Bey is doubtful to return with a hamstring.

On first down from the gun, Luck was intercepted by Abdullah after Hilton could not secure the pass.  Kansas City took over at the Colts' 28.

After a return, KC started at its 20.  Davis ran for two yards on first down off the right side.  Smith on an option keeper reversed to middle of field for three yards.  On third-and-five, Smith and Bowe could not connect as the Colts forced a three-and-out.  Dustin Colquitt punted 47 yards to the Colts' 28.

Indianapolis was called for an illegal formation on first down, making it first-and-15 from the 46.  From the gun, Luck hit Hilton for 16 yards and a first down.  Going up-tempo, Luck hit Hilton for eight yards on a route up the middle.  From the gun, Luck hit Brazill to the KC three.  Luck and Fleener missed on a quick out route.  Luck hit Brown for the score.  Kansas City 38, Colts, 24.

After a Demps return to the 22, Smith was sacked for a two-yard loss by Ricky Jean Francois.  Smith hit Hemingway for 17 yards on a quick-hitter, with pressure from Mathis.  Smith hit Davis on a screen pass for 13 yards to midfield.  Davis bounced off right guard for four yards.  Mathis got a strip-sack of Smith, and the Colts recovered at the Chiefs 41 (Sheppard on the recovery).

Donnie Avery is out for KC with a concussion.

After a touchback, Brown ran for three yards.  Luck hit Hilton for 10 yards and a first down.  Luck hit Brown from the backfield for 11 yards.  From the gun and up-tempo, Luck hit Da'Rick Rogers for 46 yards to the KC 10.  Brown ran in on a run up the middle to get a quick score.  Kansas City 38, Colts 17.

Smith hit McCluster for five yards on a swing pass.  Davis hit up the middle for three yards, bringing up third-and-two.  From the gun, Smith rolled and influence coverage and hit Davis on a 10-yard scoring pass.  Kansas City 38, Colts 10.

After a touchback, Luck was intercepted by Husain Abdullah, who returned the theft to the Colts' 18.

SECOND QUARTER UPDATE

Smith ran for one yard under pressure to start the possession, and 13 seconds remained.  Smith hit Davis for three yards, and five second remained.  From the gun and on a desperation pass, Smith was incomplete in the end zone, looking for Bowe.

After a touchback, Luck and Fleener missed on first down.  Luck scrambled from the gun for nine yards.  On third-and-one, Luck from the gun hit Fleener for the needed yard.  Kansas City was offside on first down.  Luck hit Hilton on an out route for 22 yards to the KC 43.  Houston sacked Luck on first down, a seven-yard loss.  Luck was intercepted by Brandon Flowers on second down, with Flowers returning the theft 17 yards to the Colts' 45 with 21 seconds left.

Davis swept left for seven yards to the 26 to start the drive.  Davis on a draw play picked up four yards.  Smith on a read-option-type play gained three yards.  From the gun, Smith tucked and ran for six yards.  On third-and-one, from the gun, Smith kept for the first down by gaining seven yards off the right side.  Smith hit Davis on a one-yard gain, with great tackle by Jerrell Freeman.  Smith hit McCluster for five yards to bring up third-and-four.  From the gun with two backs, Smith hit Anthony Fasano on a TE screen for five yards and a first down at the Colts' 43.  Davis hit off the right side for five yards.  From the gun with an empty backfield, Smith's pass was batted by Darius Butler, who was blitzing.  On third-and-five, Smith hit McCluster for 19 yards to the 19 on a pick route.  Smith evaded two blitzers and hit Davis on a shovel pass for three yards. From the gun, Smith's pass to Avery on a crossing route was dropped.  On third-and-seven, Smith ran up the middle for eight yards and a first down at the eight at the two-minute warning.

Smith missed Bowe in the end zone on an out route, but Vontae Davis was called for a facemask.  On first-and-goal from the four, Davis scored to end a marathon drive (15 plays, 81 yards). Kansas City 31, Colts 10.

Jamaal Charles is out with a concussion.

After a touchback, Brown gained three yards up the middle.  Luck missed Hilton deep on the right sideline on second down.  Luck hit Griff Whalen in a slant route for a first down, 17 yards.  Luck from the gun handed to Brown for five yards.  Luck was incomplete to Whalen on second down.  On third-and-five from the gun, Luck hit Fleener for four yards.  On fourth-and-one, Luck kept for 21 yards to the KC 30.  Luck hit Hilton in the right flat and after contact, Hilton gained 11 yards to the 19.  Luck and Hilton were incomplete on first down.  From the gun, Luck missed Whalen on an out route.  On third down, Houston broke up a Luck pass for Brazill.  Adam Vinatieri hit a 37-yard field goal to end the drive.  Kansas City 24, Colts 10.

Davis bounced to the right and ran 13 yards to the four on first down.  Davis was trapped for a yard loss on first down.  From the gun on second down, Smith hit a shovel pass to Anthony Sherman for the score.  Seven points off a Colts turnover.  Kansas City 24, Colts 7.

Greg Toler is doubtful to return with a groin injury.

Tickets distributed 63,551.

On first down from the 20, Trent Richardson fumbled and Justin Houston recovered and returned the ball to the Colts' 17.

Smith from the gun was incomplete under pressure on first down, Bethea on another blitz.  Smith was incomplete on a play-action rollout on second down.  On third down from the gun and under pressure, Smith hit Donnie Avery for 79 yards and a score.  Robert Mathis had pressure on Smith, and Avery got behind Greg Toler.  Kansas City 17, Colts 7.

FIRST QUARTER UPDATE

Brazill returned the kickoff 34 yards to put the Colts at the 30.  Luck handed to Donald Brown for four yards on first down.  Up-tempo, Luck from the gun was hit on the throw and was incomplete.  On third-and-six, Luck from the gun, Luck's pass was batted and he was hurried.  Pat McAfee punted 51 yards and KC started at its 21 as the quarter ended.

Smith missed Bowe on a long slant route on the drive that starter at the 26.  Indianapolis was flagged for illegal contact to give KC a first down.  Davis ran right for four yards off the right side.  Under center, Smith hit Bowe on a slant route, which Bowe took for 63 yards to the Colts' two, Bethea on the hustling tackle.  Smith rolled right and threw the ball away on first down.  Davis got near the goal-line off the right side to set up third-and-goal.  Davis was stuffed on third down.  Ryan Succop hit a 19-yard FG to end the drive (73 yards, seven plays).  Kansas City 10, Colts 7.

Starting from the 26 after a LaVon Brazill KOR, Luck from the gun hit T.Y. Hilton for 12 yards.  Going up-tempo, Luck from the gun hit Hilton for five yards.  Up-tempo again, Luck from the gun, hit Hilton again, this time for 24 yards.  From the gun, Luck hit Brazill for no gain.  Luck hit Coby Fleener on the right sideline for 18 yards to the KC 15.  Still up-tempo, Luck with an empty backfield hit Brazill for five yards.  Luck from the gun with five receivers hit Hilton for the score.  Luck was seven-for-seven for 74 yards, with Hilton having four receptions for 51 yards.  Colts 7, Kansas City 7.

Jamaal Charles is questionable to return with concussion protocol being done.

After a Quintin Demps return to the 18, Jamaal Charles ran off right tackle for five yards.  Under center, Alex Smith gave to Charles off left tackle for six yards.  Smith hit Dwayne Bowe on a first-down slant for 12 yards and a first down.  Smith bought time on second down and hit Knile Davis for a short gain on the left sideline.  From the gun, Smith evaded a blitzing Antoine Bethea and ran around the right side for 16 yards to the Colts' 39.  Charles ran off the right side for seven yards.  On second-and three, Davis took an option pitch for six yards to the 26.  Smith hit Dexter McCluster in motion across offense for a five-yard pass on first down.  Creative drive by KC.  Davis popped outside, taking on Greg Toler and gaining five yards and the first down.  Smith hit McCluster out of backfield for seven yards.  Davis carried for three tough yards and a first down at the six.  Smith missed Junior Hemingway on a slant route on first down.  Smith missed Donnie Avery in the end zone on second down.  From the gun, Smith hit Bowe from the slot for the touchdown.  Drive was 82 yards, 16 plays, taking 6:49.  Kansas City 7, Colts 0.

Kansas City won the coin toss and elected to receive.
