INDIANAPOLIS – On Wednesday, June 10, Indianapolis Colts Head Coach Jim Caldwell will host the 5th Annual Colts Celebrity Showdown fundraiser. All proceeds from the event will be used to provide scholarships for deserving Indiana students through the Carson Scholars Fund and offer interactive whiteboards to local community centers for the enhancement of childhood education.
The event, which will be held at the Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center and features a "Back to School" theme, will include a cocktail reception, buffet dinner, live and silent auctions, autograph session with Colts players and the Celebrity Showdown, a "Family Feud"-style gameshow featuring members of the Colts defense vs. offense. The Colts Celebrity Showdown was started in 2005 by former Head Coach Tony Dungy and his wife, Lauren. To date, the Colts Celebrity Showdown has raised more than $600,000 to benefit the Indianapolis Chapter of the Carson Scholars Fund, which recognizes and rewards students, grades 4-11, with college scholarships for academic and humanitarian achievements.
Inspiring the new philanthropic element of providing Promethean interactive whiteboards for local community centers, Coach Caldwell will continue the legacy by hosting the 2009 Celebrity Showdown. The event will be held at the Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center.
