INDIANAPOLIS - Today, the Indianapolis Colts announce their youth football department will team up with Colts Pro-Bowl safety Antoine Bethea to run the inaugural Antoine Bethea Colts Skills Camp Saturday June 2nd, 2012 at the Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center.
The 2012 Colts Skills Camp will be the seventh consecutive Skills Camp the Colts Youth Football program has conducted, but this is the first time the camp has any partnership with a Colts player. This free camp is for youth football players from third through eighth grade. It is a chance for kids to learn the game of football from Bethea, but also get the guidance of 25 college coaches.
"I'm excited to host my first youth camp here in Indy," Bethea said. "There are so many young fans in the stands with my jersey on, showing their support, so being a part of this free camp gives me a chance to give back to them as well.
Bethea will host two camps Saturday with the first one being for kids in third through fifth grade starting at 10 a.m., and the second camp for kids in sixth through eighth grade starting at 1 p.m. The camps will help kids work on the fundamentals in football, but more importantly learn the importance of having good character.
"We are ecstatic to team up with Antoine Bethea this weekend for our Colts Skills Camp," Colts Youth Football Commissioner Mike Prior said. "It is exciting to know that Antoine will help the kids learn the fundamentals of football, but more importantly help out young campers with character development."
