Nicole Hosier-Bullington Honored As Anthem Angel This Past SundayINDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Colts are proud to announce a resident of Jeffersonville, Ind. as a 2008 honoree of the Anthem Angels program, presented by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Nicole Hosier-Bullington, a Health and Physical Education teacher at Clarksville Middle School, was recognized as an "Anthem Angel" at the Colts home game this past Sunday, October 12, 2008, for her outstanding contribution to the community.
In honor of Nicole's dedication, she received four (4) VIP Club Seat Tickets to the Colts game, a feature story with her photo in the Colts gameday magazine (the Scout) and on www.colts.com, as well as recognition on the hhGregg Big Screens in Lucas Oil Stadium during the game.
Nicole Hosier-Bullington, nominated by her mother, Debra, has been a teacher at Clarksville Middle School for six years.
Nicole is more than a teacher. Two days a week, this "angel" mentors homeless students after school. She personally provides them with a snack and helps with homework. Every year during the holidays, the school has a giving tree with the names of children who will not be receiving any gifts and year after year, when the deadline nears and names remain on the tree, Nicole takes all the remaining names and makes sure every child has a gift. In addition to many other service activities, Nicole introduces possibilities to students in her community which they may not otherwise encounter to inspire positive life choices.
"Anthem Angels…Honoring Everyday Heroes" was established by the Indianapolis Colts and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield to pay tribute to Hoosier "First Respondents" who may have received little or no recognition for the strides they have made to help others in human-service related professions.
Nominations are still being accepted for upcoming 2008 home games. For more information about Anthem Angels, presented by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, please visit www.colts.com/anthemangels.
