?INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Colts are proud to announce a resident of Indianapolis, Ind. as a 2010 honoree of the Anthem Angels program, presented by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Annette Perry was recognized at the Colts home game on Sunday, December 5, for her dedication to the community.

Annette Perry, nominated by Darcey Palmer-Shultz, has demonstrated a long-time commitment to serving low-income youth and their families in both Indianapolis and Fort Wayne through her career at Big Brothers Big Sisters. Annette's role as a Match Support Specialist with Big Brothers Big Sisters makers her the critical link between the agency, mentors, youth and families. For the past eight years, Annette has served those who need support with a positive attitude and a smile on her face.

During her time with Big Brothers Big Sisters, Annette has helped to establish one of the first community impact areas in the northeastern Indianapolis area by forging partnerships with Indianapolis Public School #94, Finish Line, and families living in the Carriage House East Apartment community. She has also been instrumental in developing the Supportive Mentoring through ART (SMART) program in cooperation with the Indianapolis Arts Center. Through this program, the Indianapolis Art Center offers year-long art education to Big Brothers Big Sisters mentors and youth.

In addition to contributing to the growth of Big Brothers Big Sisters, Annette also volunteers her time as a Big Sister for a local teenager, Rochelle. Annette and Rochelle have been matched for four years and have shared many special experiences together, from weekly lunches to community events. Together, Annette and Rochelle have found that a little time has made a big difference in both of their lives, and Annette feels uplifted and humbled to be Rochelle's mentor.   The Indianapolis Colts recognize Annette as an outstanding role model for our community, and congratulate her as this game's Anthem Angel.

In honor of Annette's exemplary service, she received four (4) VIP Club Seat Tickets to the Colts game, a feature story with his photo in the Colts gameday magazine (the Scout) and on www.colts.com, as well as recognition on-field recognition at the game.

"Anthem Angels…Honoring Everyday Heroes" was established by the Indianapolis Colts and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield to pay tribute to Hoosier "First Respondents" who have made exceptional strides to help others in their community.
