INDIANAPOLIS – After being hit a season-high 13 times last Sunday, Andrew Luck sat out Wednesday's first practice of the week with a sore right shoulder/elbow.
Luck exited the team's walk-through on Wednesday morning and headed inside once practice officially got underway.
While Luck has missed various practice time in 2016, Wednesday is typically the day when he participates fully.
"He got whacked around pretty good last week," Chuck Pagano said of his quarterback after Wednesday's practice.
"He should be okay."
Last week, Luck was limited on each day of practice (a slight change from what he's normally done in 2016).
The last time Luck missed an entire Wednesday of a normal game week was Week Three. Luck went out and threw for 331 yards that Sunday in the team's first victory of the season (over the Chargers).
"I'm a big believer in practice and it hurts your soul not to be out there practicing," Luck said on Wednesday. "Obviously some things are done for the better for this team and for yourself. And today was the right decision.
"It's not ideal, but you make it work."
While Pagano isn't sure if Luck will practice the rest of this week, the quarterback is very confident he will be under center on Sunday in Minnesota.
In last Sunday's loss to the Texans, Luck played every snap.
Luck has taken every snap in every game this season, expect for Thanksgiving night against the Steelers, when a concussion took him out of the lineup.
"It's December football. Nobody feels as good as they want to," Luck said after missing Wednesday's practice. "But you make sure you are ready to go for Sunday.
"We are obviously in a desperate situation. That's no secret. We know we have to take care of our business."
