INDIANAPOLIS – A major storyline surrounding the Colts (1-2) and Titans (1-2) this week emerged late on Monday afternoon.

Titans starting quarterback Jake Locker had an MRI on his wrist on Monday morning and his status for the week remains up in the air.

If Locker can't go, then veteran Charlie Whitehurst would be the starting quarterback at Lucas Oil Stadium. Whitehurst and new Titans head coach Ken Whisenhunt spent last season together in San Diego.

The injury bug has bitten Locker ever since he was taken with the No. 8 overall pick back in 2011.

Tennessee has stuck with the mobile Locker in the hope he was the quarterback of the future.

So far in 2014, Locker has completed 56.4 percent of his passes, while tossing three touchdowns and four interceptions.

An early strength of the Titans this year has been a rushing attack averaging 5.0 yards per carry.

Former Jets running back Shonn Greene is the team's leading rusher (30 carries for 144 yards) with rookie Bishop Sankey (18 carries for 89 yards) knocking on the door.

Tight end Delanie Walker has been a thorn in the side of opposing defenses with 17 catches for 233 yards.

Young wide receiver Kendall Wright (14 catches for 121 yards) continues to be a threat out of the slot for the Titans passing game.

An interesting matchup to watch this week will be Andrew Luck coming off a career performance and now taking on the Titans defensive backs.

Tennessee ranks second in the NFL at allowing just 170.0 passing yards per game. The Titans defense also ranks third in sacks per pass attempt and sixth in allowing third-down conversions.

After beating the Chiefs, on the road, 26-10 in Week One of the season, the Titans have fallen to the Cowboys (26-10) and on the road to the Bengals (33-7).

2014 NFL Draft Results:  After selecting offensive guard Chance Warmack in the top 10 of last year's draft, the Titans chose offensive tackle Taylor Lewan out of Michigan in May. One of the more intriguing picks of the draft came when the Titans took Washington running back Bishop Sankey in the second round. Many believe Sankey will eventually take over as the team's starting running back this season.

*2013 Review: *The Titans got off to a promising start in 2014 with a 3-1 record during September. Tennessee then dropped three straight games to eventual playoff teams and couldn't climb back over .500 the rest of the season. Head Coach Mike Munchak was fired after his third season at the helm. The Titans also lost Pro Bowl corner Alterraun Verner to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in free agency.

Last time in Playoffs: 2008 season. Lost to the Baltimore Ravens, 13-10, in the Divisional Round of the playoffs.

*Last time in Super Bowl: *1999 season. Lost to the St. Louis Rams, 23-16, in Super Bowl XXXIV.
