2018 Colts Rookie Watch: Week 14

Get a weekly look into the performance of the Indianapolis Colts’ rookies, continuing today with their stats and highlights in the team’s Week 13 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

INDIANAPOLIS — It's time for the Week 14 version of the 2018 Colts Rookie Watch, where we take a look at the stats and highlights to track the progress of each rookie on the Indianapolis Colts' roster.

So, without further ado, here we go:

» Matthew Adams, linebacker: Adams — the Colts' seventh-round (221st-overall) pick — logged 24 snaps with the defense and a team-best 19 special teams snaps last Sunday against the Jaguars, finishing with two tackles (one for a loss). Adams, who is tied with fellow linebacker Najee Goode, fellow rookie George Odum and safety Corey Moore for the team lead in special teams tackles with seven, has 12 total tackles (two for a loss), a quarterback hit and a fumble recovery for the defense so far.

» Zaire Franklin, linebacker: Franklin, also a seventh-round (235th-overall) pick, played 17 special teams snaps in the loss to the Jaguars. The Syracuse product, who has played in all 12 games with two starts on the year, has 16 tackles, one pass defensed and three special teams stops so far on the season.

» Nyheim Hines, running back: The fourth-round (104th-overall) pick contributed four carries for five yards, but tied a single-game career-best with nine receptions for 50 yards, in the Colts' loss to the Jaguars. On the season, Hines has 73 carries for 288 yards (4.0 yards per carry) and a touchdown, while he also has 49 receptions for 298 yards and two scores in the passing game.

» Darius Leonard, linebacker: Leonard turned in nine tackles (one for a loss) last Sunday against the Jaguars. The NFL's Defensive Rookie of the Month for September, Leonard, the second-round (36th-overall) pick, continues to lead the league in tackles (123) and also has 6.0 sacks, 10.0 tackles for loss, three passes defensed, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

» Tyquan Lewis, defensive tackle/defensive end: Lewis, the Colts' second-round (64th-overall) pick in this year's draft, earned his fourth straight start on Sunday against the Jaguars, finishing with another two quarterback hits. Lewis, who was activated off injured reserve after missing the first eight games of the season, has six total tackles (one for a loss) with five quarterback hits and one pass defensed so far this year.

» Skai Moore, linebacker: Moore, the undrafted rookie out of South Carolina, appeared in his eighth game of the season last Sunday against the Jaguars, and logged one defensive and three special teams snaps. On the season, Moore, who has one start, has four tackles for the defense.

» Quenton Nelson, guard: Nelson, the Colts' sixth-overall pick in April's NFL Draft, started once again at left guard against the Jaguars, and played all 76 snaps with the offense, as well as one special teams snap. Nelson, the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Month for October, had another solid performance in that game, especially in pass block, receiving a grade of 77.4 in that area from Pro Football Focus.

» George Odum, safety: Odum logged 18 special teams and two defensive snaps Sunday against the Jaguars. The undrafted rookie — who had played in all 12 games this season with one start — has seven total tackles (one for a loss) on the season, and is tied with Adams, Goode and Corey Moore for team-high honors with seven special teams tackles.

» Braden Smith, guard: Smith earned his ninth-career start, and his eighth straight at right tackle, last Sunday against the Jaguars, playing all 76 snaps on offense. The second-round (37th-overall) pick, who also earned the start Week 1 against the Bengals as the tackle-eligible player on the first play of the game, has a solid overall grade of 69.4 on the season, according to PFF.

» Kemoko Turay, defensive end: Turay logged 15 defensive snaps and had a tackle in the loss to the Jaguars. On the season, Turay, the second-round (52nd-overall) pick in this year's NFL Draft, has 14 tackles (one for a loss), four sacks, 12 quarterback hits and one forced fumble.

» Jordan Wilkins, running back: Wilkins played 5 offensive and 10 special teams snaps last Sunday against Jacksonville, catching one pass on theday. The fifth-round (169th-overall) pick has played in all 12 games with three starts on the year, and has 57 rushing attempts for 318 yards (5.6 avg) as well as 14 receptions for 74 yards in all.
