INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis International Airport is about to see the future of the NFL come through their terminals over the next week.
Starting Tuesday, more than 300 NFL prospects will report to Indianapolis for the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine.
Prospects will arrive in Indy for a four-day interview process that will span a variety of intense analyzation.
The on-field workouts for the prospects will come on their final day in Indianapolis.
On-Field Workout Schedule:
-Friday: Specialists, Offensive Line, Running Backs
-Saturday: Quarterbacks, Wide Receivers, Tight Ends
-Sunday: Defensive Line, Linebackers
-Monday: Defensive Backs
Here's a breakdown of how the schedule will look for the prospects upon their arrival (the first group of players arrives Tuesday):
- Day One: Arrival, Hospital Pre-Exam and X-Rays, Orientation, Team Interviews
- Day Two: Measurements, Medical Examinations, Team Interviews
- Day Three: Psychological Testing, NFLPA Meeting, Media, Bench Press, Team Interviews
- Day Four: On-Field Workout
Due to the ever-growing coverage of the NFL's second largest event, the media portion of this year's Combine has been moved from Lucas Oil Stadium into the Indiana Convention Center.
Another aspect of the Combine that brings about more news/information comes from virtually every head coach and general manager meeting the media.
Those interviews will begin Wednesday.
New Colts GM Chris Ballard has his press conference scheduled for Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. Chuck Pagano is scheduled for Thursday at 10:00 a.m. Those press conferences will be available on Colts.com/live and on the team's Mobile App.
Unique to the Colts this year is that they will find out their exact draft position via a coin toss scheduled for Friday. A coin toss between the Colts and Vikings (who are trading their first-round pick to the Eagles) will decide which team will pick 14th or 15th overall come April.*
