INDIANAPOLIS – Erik Walden won't be playing in Indianapolis next season, but he still will be in the AFC South.
After months of sitting on the open market as a free agent, the 31-year-old Walden signed with the Titans on Friday.
Walden started 61-of-64 games in his four seasons with the Colts. Last year, Walden had a career-high 11.0 sacks.
With the Colts looking to get younger on the defensive side of the ball this offseason, Walden was not retained. Instead, the Colts signed three outside linebackers in free agency and drafted Tarell Basham in the third round.
The 11 sacks Walden had in 2016, almost doubled his previous season-high after nine years in the NFL.
Since the Colts brought Walden in via free agency in 2013, they received a pretty consistent edge presence.
The Colts will see Walden and the Titans in Week 6 (Nashville) and Week 12 (Indianapolis) next year.*
