INDIANAPOLIS – Next Tuesday, December 8, the Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Blood Center will host the annual Bleed Blue Blood Drive and Health Fair, presented by CardioChek at Lucas Oil Stadium. In 2008, nearly 2,000 Hoosiers helped give the gift of life by participating, making it the largest single-day blood drive in Indiana. Due to the overwhelming response last year, individuals interested in donating this year are asked to make an appointment by logging on to www.colts.com/bleedblue or **www.indianablood.org/bleedblue**. Space is limited. Make an appointment today to guarantee your spot! If you're unable to donate, you can still join us for the free health fair on Lucas Oil Plaza, activities on the field and more!
The 2009 Bleed Blue Blood Drive will take place from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. on December 8, and will also feature a free health fair, appearances by Colts players, cheerleaders and Blue, kids' activities, access to the field and much more. All participants in the blood drive will receive a limited edition Colts DB Marlin Jackson Football and Photograph.
This year's drive is made possible through the support of the Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Blood Center, CardioChek, WISH-TV, Novartis and ADVANTAGE Health, and is a part of the Colts and WISH-TV's ongoing "Hoosiers Helping Hoosiers" campaign. The "Hoosiers Helping Hoosiers" campaign was launched to encourage Indiana residents to help make a difference in the lives of their fellow Hoosiers. By donating blood at the Bleed Blue Blood Drive, each donor can help save up to three lives this holiday season.
