2007: GETTING CLOSER
CHARGERS 23, COLTS 21 The Colts' defense finished the season ranked No. 1 in the NFL in points allowed and No. 3 in yards allowed. It was the best statistical season since the 1984 move to Indianapolis, and few performances were better than that which the defense had in San Diego. The Colts held the Chargers to 177 total yards and 11 first downs. On this play, middle linebacker Gary Brackett recovered a fumble by Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers in the end zone to pull the Colts to within two, 23-21.
