• Inducted as a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Centennial Class in conjunction with the NFL's celebration of its 100th season.

• Got his start in the league with the Colts in 1968 as a scout for then-head coach Don Shula.

• Was named the offensive line coach for the Colts in 1970 as the team defeated the Dallas Cowboys in Super Bowl V.

• Served as the Colts offensive coordinator in 1973 and was in the position for two seasons.

• Was the director of pro scouting for the Dolphins from 1975-79 and then served as the general manager of the New York Giants for 19 seasons from 1979-1997.

• Was named the NFL's Executive of the Year five times.

• Joined the NFL as its Senior Vice President of Football Operations in 1998.

• Born on September 22, 1930, in Baltimore, Md.

• Passed away December 9, 2001.
