Jackson enters his third season with the Colts and his second as defensive quality control coach. He served as one of two inaugural Tony Dungy Diversity Coaching Fellows for the 2022 season and worked with Defensive Coordinator Gus Bradley and his staff. Jackson came to Indianapolis with seven years of collegiate coaching experience.
Indianapolis ranked fifth in the NFL in tackles for loss (94.0) and sacks (51.0), while finishing tied for fifth in forced fumbles (17.0) in 2023. The Colts also ranked fourth in opponent negative play yards (-512). The team recorded 14 consecutive games with a takeaway to open the season, which was the longest streak in the NFL in 2023. Jackson worked with the defensive backs, including safety Julian Blackmon, who had a career year in which he set single-season career highs in almost every defensive category, including tackles (88), solo tackles (65), tackles for loss (5.0), passes defensed (eight), interceptions (four) and fumble recoveries (two).
In 2022, the Colts finished the season in the top 10 in the league in sacks (44 – tied-10th), tackles for loss (91 – fifth), forced fumbles (13 – tied-eighth), fumble recoveries (11 – tied-fourth), opponent negative plays (31 – fifth), third down percentage (37.95 – 10th) and opponent three-and-out percentage (22.3 – eighth). The unit's 44 sacks were the most in franchise history since 2005 (46).
Prior to Indianapolis, Jackson was a graduate assistant working with the defensive backs at Oregon after serving in the same role at Auburn in 2021.
He spent two years at Illinois as a defensive analyst (2020) and graduate assistant working with the defensive backs (2019). Jackson helped Illinois get a bid to the 2019 Redbox Bowl, which was the school's first bowl in five years.
He coached four seasons at his alma mater, Louisiana, as a defensive analyst (2018) and defensive student assistant (2015-17). Jackson was part of a coaching staff that led the Ragin' Cajuns to postseason play in 2016 and 2018.
He earned his master's of kinesiology in sport management from LSU in 2020 after earning his bachelor's of kinesiology in sport management from Louisiana in 2018.
