HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (general comments at Monday's press conference)
"After looking at the tape (of the New York Jets game), it's a little bit disappointing in the way we kind of finished some things off and executed, but there are some good individual things to take out of it, and some guys stepped up and played well. We just didn't have enough of that, so all in all, it's obviously disappointing when you play a home game like that. We have to get much sharper and get ourselves playing a little bit more consistently, but there's some things we can build on and some things we can progress from. The thing I think our team learned is you can't get a second chance. So, if we do learn that lesson, it will be a plus."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on his level of concern with the amount of penalties in the first two games)
"I'm always concerned about the penalties. We had way, way, way too many in (the New York Jets) game. The first game, you can think, 'Hey, we have some young guys out there, opening-day performance,' that type of thing, but we just can't continue to have them. That's something we have to eliminate this week."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on who he expects to step up with the loss of WR-Troy Walters)
"Well, we're kind of fortunate that we have a lot of receivers, and that was one of the areas where we did perform fairly well in the game. Brad Pyatt got a chance to play about 30 plays and played well. We anticipate getting Aaron (Moorehead) and Brandon (Stokley) back pretty quickly, and those guys will pick up the slack and I think do pretty well."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on if he is concerned with the opponents' pass efficiency through the first two games)
"I'm not really concerned about the efficiency. I'm concerned about us giving up big plays, and that's what this defense is designed to take away. There's just been too many of those. We have had people complete 10 in a row before and pick up 45 yards. You knock a couple of balls loose, get a couple of sacks, and it's not that big of a deal, but the 60-yard plays and the 50-yard plays, we have to eliminate."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on how much RB-Edgerrin James will play against Buffalo)
"Well, our first unit is going to play a lot. We'd like to get Dominic Rhodes some carries. We'd like to get him 10-12 carries in this game. So, that would take away some from what Edgerrin would get in this particular game, but we don't know if Dominic is going to be able to go or not. So, we'll see what happens."
