HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on the passing of Bill Walsh) *Training Camp *
"It was really tough for me. I played for him for one year and certainly learned a lot, but even more than that, he was so supportive all throughout my career and he did a lot for African American coaches and I think coaches in general. Bill was very innovative and very much a winner and somebody I learned a lot from—a very good friend. I hate to see that happen, and just one of those things that really touches you. I wish the best to his family. He's somebody that I will definitely miss."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on Bill Walsh and what he brought to football) Training Camp
"He was one of the first guys who really looked at match-ups and substituted people into the game for different things that they could do. He had a lot of role players. He had the offensive style where it wasn't necessarily run first. He felt if he had to throw the ball to win, he could. He really created that West Coast style."
