HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (general comments) Thursday, December 27, 2007* *
"Well, we got off to a good start yesterday and I thought the practice was tempo-wise very good and very similar to last week, so hopefully we'll get the same type of results."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on the possibility of activating practice squad QB-Josh Betts) Thursday,
"We talked about it, we thought about it and (it is) probably going to be hard to do where we are with the other injuries that we have to manage. But that's something that we'll look at Friday, just who can play, who should play and who shouldn't. It does get a little bit harder. We have some guys like Antoine Bethea and Robert Mathis that it looks like they may be able to play. And then it's, how do you manage that? So we'll have to see. There will probably be a lot of discussion in the next couple of days amongst the coaching staff how to do that."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on possibly being short-handed at receiver and tight end) Thursday, December 27, 2007
"It's going to be that way at a lot of positions. And you have a few guys that you would like to see play, but if you limit them and then you have other guys up that you're only going to play a few plays, it becomes a little difficult. So we'll see."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on if he would like to see WR-Reggie Wayne reach 100 receptions) Thursday, December 27, 2007
"I would, personally. I don't know if it's going to happen or not, but I think when you get that close to a milestone it would be nice to do. You just never know how that's going to turn out, but it would be I think a well-deserved thing. We'll see what happens."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on Wayne increasing his reception totals the first seven seasons in the league) Thursday, December 27, 2007
"That's one of the reasons I would like to see him get 100 because that means he'll probably get 105 next year."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on at some point not being able to increase your receptions total) Thursday, December 27, 2007
"I don't think you can every year, but he's been very, very good. And it has been amazing how that's gone. You catch 75, 80 and we kind of get numb to it, but to increase that every year has been really fantastic."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on WR-Anthony Gonzalez's development and his not seeming to have hit the rookie wall) Thursday, December 27, 2007
