Snapperz Fall Break Event to Be Held Friday from 1-4 p.m.
INDIANAPOLIS – To Justin Snow, the idea was as obvious as it was needed.

And to Snow, the time had come.

Snow, in his ninth season as the Colts' long snapper, is the father of two young children, and when he and his wife, Heather, looked around Indianapolis, they saw a need for family-oriented, youngster-friendly entertainment.

"Having two young kids, living here in the wintertime is not the easiest thing to do," Snow said this week as he discussed Snapperz and a special event it will hold this week – Snapperz Fall Break, which will be held Friday from 1-4 p.m.

"The kids go stir-crazy. We're always looking for different events to take the kids."

And so, Snapperz was born.

Snapperz, established by Justin and Heather Snow this past August 1, is located at 6002 Sunnyside Road off Pendleton Pike, and is patterned after several establishments in Snow's hometown of Dallas, Texas. The 33,000 square foot space features inflatables, laser tag, over 40 arcade games, a bungee trampoline, rock climbing, cosmic bowling and other kid-friendly activities.

"The city really didn't offer anything (similar)," Snow said. "Just to be able to go, and instead of sitting in the house and watching television – you do that so much – you're going to be able to burn some energy and tire them out a little bit.

"Heather and I said, 'You know what? We've got to do it.' Since I'm going to be here for a little bit, let's open a business."

Snapperz, in addition to 10 birthday-party rooms, also features an area specifically for toddlers, Snow said.

"You have those two- and three-year olds who don't really need to be playing with the big kids," Snow said. "We have the toddler inflatables for them. There are books and different activities for them to do on the side."

The mascot for Snapperz is a snapping turtle, a reference to the position Snow has held with the Colts for nearly a decade.

"Really, what's good about it is the whole family can participate, since we do have the bowling and the arcade games," Snow said. "I've been on the inflatables with my kids. The parents can do anything in the place. You come in on a Friday night or a Saturday afternoon and you're with your kids and you hang out and play. We have six televisions to watch football games.

"It's just a great atmosphere for you to come and spend the day, not just a little bit of time. You can come spend an afternoon or a night."

The Snapperz Fall Break event will feature the Colts' mascot, Blue; Colts Cheerleaders and the Lombardi Trophy the Colts won by winning Super Bowl XLI.

Families bringing a canned good will be admitted free to the event.
