INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Colts today activated defensive tackle/defensive end Tyquan Lewis from the Injured Reserve list and elevated linebacker Skai Moore to the 53-man roster from the practice squad. The team also waived wide receiver Steve Ishmael and running back Robert Turbin.
Lewis, 6-3, 269 pounds was placed on the team's Injured Reserve list on September 3. He was selected by Indianapolis in the second round (64th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft. Lewis played in 53 games (36 starts) at Ohio State and totaled 112 tackles (63 solo), 36.5 tackles for loss, 23.5 sacks, five passes defensed and five forced fumbles. He finished fifth in Buckeye history in career sacks. Lewis garnered First Team All-Big Ten honors from the coaches and media in each of his last two seasons (2016-17). In 2016, he was named the Smith-Brown Defensive Lineman of the Year, awarded to the best defensive lineman in the Big Ten. Lewis received Honorable Mention All-Big Ten recognition from the coaches and media in 2015.
Moore, 6-2, 218 pounds, has spent time on the Colts' active roster and practice squad this season. He has played in four games (one start) for Indianapolis and has made two tackles. Moore was originally signed by the Colts as an undrafted free agent on May 1, 2018. Collegiately, he started 37-of-50 career games at South Carolina and totaled 353 tackles (213 solo), 20.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, 20 passes defensed, 14 interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.
Ishmael, 6-2, 212 pounds, has spent time on Indianapolis' active roster and practice squad this season. He participated in the team's 2018 offseason program and training camp before being waived during final cuts on September 1. Ishmael was originally signed by Indianapolis as an undrafted free agent on May 1, 2018.
Turbin, 5-10, 225 pounds, was signed by Indianapolis as an unrestricted free agent on March 15, 2016. He has played in 81 career games (four starts) in his time with the Colts (2016-18), Dallas Cowboys (2015), Cleveland Browns (2015) and Seattle Seahawks (2012-14) and has totaled 355 carries for 1,354 yards and nine touchdowns. Turbin has also caught 86 passes for 688 yards and three touchdowns.
