The Indianapolis Colts today signed guard Isaiah Williams to the 53-man roster off the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad and placed tackle/guard Jack Mewhort on the Injured Reserve List.
Williams, 6-3, 306 pounds, spent the 2016 season on the Washington Redskins practice squad. He was released by Washington prior to the start of the 2017 campaign and was signed to the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad on September 4 where he spent the first five weeks of the season. Williams appeared in 45 collegiate games at Akron and was named an All-MAC third-team selection as a senior in 2015 after helping the Zips average 164.2 rushing yards per game.
Mewhort, 6-6, 305 pounds, has started all 45 games he has played in along the offensive line at right guard (five), left guard (36) and right tackle (four) over his four seasons (2014-17) in Indianapolis. He started all five games this season at right guard. Mewhort was originally selected by the Colts in the second round (59th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft out of Ohio State.
