QB-PEYTON MANNING (on OT - Tarik Glenn) Training Camp
"I'm glad he was out there today. It's going to be great if he'll be out there everyday. Being a Pro Bowl player last year, I think he can be even more dominant and even better. He's here from day one practicing. I was happy he was here from day one practicing and hopefully he can remain that way and stay healthy. He's been a consistent player for so long. Hopefully, he can raise his game like all of us to an even higher level. He's going to get their best pass rusher. He's going to get their Dwight Freeney or Julius Peppers. There's nobody I'd rather have protecting my backside, and he's done it every year since I've been here, which I appreciate."
QB-PEYTON MANNING(on not worrying about the pass rush) Training Camp
"You have to as a quarterback. That's the only way you can start reading defenses. Throwing with confidence, balance and accuracy is assuming you are protected. That's something that I've always been able to do. It hasn't come easy, that's (Offensive Line Coach) Howard Mudd and all those guys working hard in the offseason. We expect to have another great season protection wise."
QB-PEYTON MANNING(on working on foot work) Training Camp
"Footwork plays a big role in trying to be balanced. There's no question it's easier to throw with shorts and jerseys on as opposed to helmets, shoulder pads and pants. Footwork, fakes and mechanics, we absolutely spend a great deal of time on that. When you get older, you do more of the footwork drills than you do throwing."
QB-PEYTON MANNING (on how it felt to be back on the field) Training Camp
"It's always good to get out there and get that first practice in the shoulder pads. I thought it was a good start today."
QB-PEYTON MANNING (on the passing game) Training Camp
"In the passing game, everyone is geared on stopping Marvin (Harrison), Brandon (Stokley) and Reggie (Wayne), but we feel we can hurt teams with the tight ends like we have in the past. With Edgerrin James or Dominic (Rhodes) out of the backfield, hopefully that is something we can improve on."
