QB-PEYTON MANNING (on everyone talking about Chiefs RB-Larry Johnson, but the Colts' offense also being able to score points)

"We've just strived for good execution every single week, although we have a tough challenge this week.  The Chiefs have an excellent defense, probably as good of a cover corner tandem as there is in the league, and it hasn't gotten much attention.  But you pop them in on the film…I'm very familiar with both of these guys, Ty Law and Patrick Surtain, even from the old AFC East days.  Just an excellent defense across the board.  Larry Johnson is a great player, but for me, I'm just focused on their defense, and there is plenty to think about."

QB-PEYTON MANNING (on playing well at home)

"(Head) Coach (Tony) Dungy always puts an emphasis on trying to defend your home turf, although he still says though it really shouldn't matter.  The team that is going to execute better and going to protect the ball better is going to win whether you are on the road or at home.  Certainly, when you have your home fans here and your home crowd into it, you feel like you ought to play a little bit better.  We have done that so far this year, played better at home than we have on the road, and hopefully we can keep that going."

QB-PEYTON MANNING (on how the offense caught fire entering the 2003 playoffs)

"We just kind of got on a hot streak there.  We had two games without punting.  We got hot and we were rolling, and even Coach Dungy mentioned, probably as hot of a streak as we've been on in a two-game period."

QB-PEYTON MANNING (on the offense's efficiency this season)

"That's the kind of word that we've strived for, is efficient.  Our overall time of possession is down, so when we are on the field, we talk about trying to stay on the field and trying to convert on third down, and I think we're No.1 in third-down conversions.  So, just a real mindset to try to stay on the field and try to move the ball down the field and get into the end zone.  It's all about doing it every single week, being consistent.  Just because you did something for two weeks or did something for 16 weeks, it doesn't mean you're going to do it again.  You have to go out there and do it every single Sunday."

QB-PEYTON MANNING (on if teams have gone back to making the Colts offense take long drives instead of letting them take shots downfield)

"You kind of see different approaches week to week.  Every play, your head is kind of on a swivel, being prepared for every single thing.  We've done a good job in the run game, getting positive plays.  You're always trying to avoid the negative plays.  A couple of times against Miami on Sunday that we got stopped, we had some negative plays.  We had a penalty and had a mental mistake here or there.  We talk about being productive.  If you're productive on first and second down, then hopefully that should result in a pretty good third-down conversion rate.  That's something that we're always trying
