QB-PEYTON MANNING (on the interceptions at San Diego) Wednesday, November 14, 2007* *
"Just poor decisions, poor throws on my part. Certainly plenty to learn from, from that game. We need to correct our mistakes, correct my mistakes, and be better from it."
QB-PEYTON MANNING (on how much it changes from when WR-Marvin Harrison is not playing) Wednesday, November 14, 2007
"It's hard to say. You'd have to ask more of the defenses to see how it affects the way they prepare or what not. We just have to keep finding ways to make plays in the passing game with who is in there. Obviously, we want to get Marvin back as soon as possible, but we still have to find a way to make plays happen in the passing game."
QB-PEYTON MANNING (on the reserve offensive linemen play and if anything changed at San Diego) Wednesday, November 14, 2007
"Pretty much running the same plays and the same offensive scheme. Obviously, I'm sure Ryan Lilja and Jeff (Saturday) and Jake (Scott) are doing whatever they can to help out those guys, but I know the coaches expect all the players that aren't participating heavy with the first team in practice to be paying attention, and when their number is called they have to be ready to play. Those guys stepped in and did a good job."
QB-PEYTON MANNING (on if he has to make calls any differently with reserve linemen) Wednesday, November 14, 2007
"It's on the road, it's loud. You make the calls and it's always important when we make audibles and make calls that everybody kind of communicates it down the line. Really, for the most part mentally, we were pretty sharp."
QB-PEYTON MANNING (on with injuries, if he has to be careful not to do too much) Wednesday, November 14, 2007
"I think you just try to go through your reads and go through your progressions and try to find the open guy. Any time you have new players playing every single repetition in practice, it really counts. In meetings or in walkthrough, you really try to work hard to get on the same page because it's all happening pretty fast out there in the game. And that's why you practice and prepare for the game."
QB-PEYTON MANNING (on how tough it will be for the defense to hold together without DE-Dwight Freeney) Wednesday,
"I respect Dwight. Dwight, (I don't know) if it's even possible to replace him. He just has a certain presence on the field, and personally, just so disappointed and sorry for him. He was having such a great year and was playing so well and to have this injury, I feel for him. Obviously the team is disappointed, but we're just sorry for Dwight as well because it's just tough. But the same deal, those guys, the old cliché is true, everybody else has to kind of step up and raise their level of pl
