"We didn't have any snafus with it, if you will. We were able to communicate. You never know on Monday Night Football with all the micro-waves and satellite dishes and that type of thing. I can remember getting a tow-truck (signal) driving on South Street when I was in Philadelphia (on the QB headset) when I was on Monday Night Football. But it seems like they have some of those dedicated lines that are taking care of that stuff now."
HEAD COACH BRAD CHILDRESS (on DE-Jared Allen and if he has been what Childress hoped)
"Well, he certainly has been through the OTAs and the offseason. I think he did some things not in terms of statistics obviously in this first game, but drew two holding penalties, which (is) not the direction you want to move I know if you're on offense. But a good football player and he's been a pleasure to coach, in the locker room and (outside) the locker room."

"We were at the point where we were looking for a defensive end, so we really consider that our first-round draft pick and a guy that's already played in the league and it's rare that you're able to be able to sign somebody's franchise player. Most guys don't leave very often."

"Probably number one is his personality. He's always a smile-on-his-face guy. He doesn't have a diva mentality. He comes to work every day. He's a million-mile-an-hour guy, whether it's in the weight room, whether it's on the practice field or in film study. He's a work-hard guy, he's a play-hard guy and a great, great personality. And a pretty good handshake, too."
HEAD COACH BRAD CHILDRESS (on if he expects a different Colts defense this week)
"I always think that there's a wrapping up process. We all like to hit the straight run and believe we'll do that, but I know that's a very, very prideful defense and built for speed. I'd expect we're going to get their best shot. They have obviously some premier pass rushers that play the run very well, they have a fast linebacking corps and there's probably not any better player in the game than Bob Sanders."
HEAD COACH BRAD CHILDRESS (on the Colts offense and if it was apparent from the Chicago game that there were kinks to work out)
"I don't know if it was apparent or not. (Peyton Manning) orchestrates so much, or at least it looks like he does, at the line of scrimmage, but I thought obviously the Bears defense played hard and gave them probably some un-scouted looks and usually that happens at times in the first game."

DE-JARED ALLEN (on if he was shocked when he got traded)
"No, not at all. It was something that I was kind of pushing for and it worked out great.
"Me and management (in Kansas City) didn't see eye to eye, so I think in the long run it worked out for everybody."

"I'm excited about it and anxious to get out there and play Sunday and every Sunday just so we can continue to work together and put it out there."

"Definitely. It's the old saying: 'It's never as good as it seems and it's never as bad as it seems.'"

"Coming to an organization like Minnesota is great because everything they told me on the phone, when I got here, was put into action. I just want to go out and give it my all for them."
DE-JARED ALLEN (on not sacking QB-Peyton Manning last year)
"I came close. I don't know how he got rid of that ball when I hit him. I hit him, I was taking him down and he dumped it off. I've come close a lot of times. I actually haven't gotten Peyton yet. It was one of those games where close but no cigar. I always laugh, I say when you play against the Colts you're not only rushing the offensive tackle, you're rushing against Peyton Manning. So if you beat the tackle, now you have to beat Peyton before that internal clock of his tells him to dump the ball off."
