Peyton Manning, Austin Collie Named Finalists for Player-of-the-Week Honors

INDIANAPOLIS – Colts Quarterback Peyton Manning has been named a finalist for FedEx Air NFL Player-of-the-Week honors, the NFL announced on Tuesday. Fans can vote for winners on NFL.com/FedEx from 9 a.m. (ET) on Tuesday through noon (ET) on Friday to determine the Players-of-the-Week.

Manning helped lead the Colts to a 31-9 victory Sunday night at Tennessee. The win marked the Colts' 14th in a row dating to last season, a new club record. Manning completed 36-of-44 passes (82 percent) for 309 yards and three touchdowns with one interception for a 109.2 passer rating.

Manning extended a club record with his fifth consecutive 300-plus-yard game, while he became the third quarterback in NFL history to start the season with five consecutive 300-yard games. Manning also passed Fran Tarkenton on two career NFL lists, Sunday night. Manning moved into third place for career touchdown passes with 345 and fifth in passing yards with 47,273. Manning currently leads all NFL quarterbacks in completions, yards, touchdowns and passer rating.

Fans will be voting for more than their favorite player. As part of the Air & Ground program, FedEx continues its support of Safe Kids USA – a national non-profit organization that works to prevent accidental injury among children – by making weekly $1,000 donations in the winning players' names. The funding, allocated to local Safe Kids coalitions in that team's city, is used for pedestrian safety improvements throughout the year, from upgraded crosswalks and street signage to traffic barriers and educational training.

Also nominated for Air Player-of-the-Week honors were Seattle's Matt Hasselbeck and Denver's Kyle Orton.

COLLIE NOMINATED FOR WEEKLY ROOKIE HONOR
Colts wide receiver Austin Collie also has been nominated for a weekly honor. Collie is a finalist along with Philadelphia wide receiver Jeremy Maclin, Denver running back Knowshon Moreno, New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks and New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez for NFL Rookie-of-the-Week honors.

Collie totaled career-highs with eight receptions for 97 yards and two touchdowns in the Colts' 31-9 Sunday night victory at Tennessee. The rookie from BYU recorded his first touchdown of the game on a 39-yard pass from Manning with :17 remaining in the first half to extend the Colts' lead to 21-9. Collie caught a six-yard TD pass on the Colts' first possession of the second half to extend the lead to 28-9.
