"I think what I stated was I thought he was going to practice. It was something he hurt during the course of the game. It did not keep him out of the game. I'm not certain at what point of the game it happened. It didn't flare up until a little while later. He is getting it evaluated at this point."

"I think that is the healthiest approach. What we try and do is try to encourage all the guys who are not just starters, but the guys behind them. Even the guys on the practice squad, we tell them that anybody at any point in time could be called upon to step in and do a job. You have to be ready. It's one of the most difficult things to do, particularly after you've gone through this length of time through the season for guys on the practice squad. It almost appears that maybe they will not get an opportunity. Then it comes around. When opportunity knocks, you have to be able to take advantage of it. We need them to be ready and they certainly need to be ready."

"We've had the opportunity to develop some young guys, particularly preseason and early in the regular season that we are very comfortable with now. I'm not certain at any point and time where you can say you are completely healthy. There are also guys who are going to be out for a short period of time and come back. It's like a juggling act. We've been able to perform fairly well under the circumstances."

"We try to talk about significant situations that occur. We may not talk about it in that exact manner but they certainly are aware. The big thing is it's a division game, it's huge, it's a home for us as well and obviously it's one we both will try hard to win for various reasons. It's going to be a tough game. It's going to be a hard-fought game. They always are."

"You can see it just in terms of his overall operation. His field generalship comes through. He is extremely poised. He seems to be under control at all times. He has a great grasp of the situation. He's been performing well. Typically when you see number rise in terms of accuracy, and yardage gained, you are seeing evidence of a pretty comfortable quarterback."
HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (On the addition of Bernard Pollard and Brian Cushing to the Texans defense) Thursday
"They are really fine football players. (Brian) Cushing is a guy a lot of people have been talking about because of last week with all of his numbers in terms of the tackles and how he's been a big factor in terms of his defensive scheme playing the outside linebacker position. He's a guy that can run. He has good leadership. He is very effective. He has done a nice job. You can see he certainly makes a difference when he's on that field. (Bernard) Pollard is another guy that has done a tremendous job in the secondary. You can see he does a great job in making sure all the guys back there are communicating properly. He also makes his presence known in special teams. You better know where he is. He can block punts. He is really a rough house guy that is very effective."
