HOUSTON, Texas – The Houston Texans have been focused on helping citizens of their state affected by Hurricane Ike for several weeks.

On Sunday, Jim Irsay focused on the issue, too.

Irsay, the Colts' Owner and Chief Executive Officer, has donated $50,000 to the Texans Helping Texans Campaign, the club announced Sunday.

"In difficult times, we should all do what we can to help the victims of these national disasters," Irsay said. "I hope others will help supthis important cause."

The campaign $50,000 was put in place on September 21 by the Texans to aid residents affected by Hurricane Ike. Irsay's contribution will help the Texans close on their goal of raising $2 million for victims.
