HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (General Comments on the week) *Wednesday *
"We're starting Week 4, and a very, very tough opponent. It's an opponent we know pretty well and they know us. So it's almost like another division game, and we are going to treat it as such. We've had some great games with Denver, some games we've won and some games where they have come in here and won. The key has always been who gets out on top early and gets their running game going and gets the other team playing one dimensional football. It's going to behoove us to get off to a good start. We're looking forward to the challenge and looking forward to being back at home."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on the Broncos and Mike Shanahan's philosophy of running the football) Wednesday
"I think that's the way he believes that you win, by dominating the line of scrimmage, by controlling the ball, forcing you to defend the run and then making big plays in the passing game. They've done it as well as anyone over the last 10 or 12 years."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on the Colts run defense improvement this year) Wednesday
"It has been better. We've been a little more sound and a little more solid and I think a little more physical. We'll get tested this week. Obviously, a good back that we know very well in (Travis) Henry and a good system."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on Travis Henry and the Broncos system) Wednesday
"They run with seemingly whoever's back there. He's a quality back and I think he fits what they do really well. He's a slasher and can get out in the secondary. He can break tackles. He's a quality back, so we're going to have our hands full."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on the Broncos defense) Wednesday
"They have little bit different system than they had last year. They brought in Dre' Bly, who had some outstanding years in the NFC. He's doing well for them. They have a lot of speed of defense. That seems to be the big thing, their linebackers, their secondary, people up front. Simeon Rice, a guy I know really well, can run. So it looks like they've gone to that approach. They are very, very fast."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on Broncos DB-Champ Bailey and their coverages) Wednesday
"We're looking at their coverages more than anything. That's what gives you a problem. They do a couple of things. They plan man coverage that looks like zone. Sometimes the corners have help and sometimes they don't, but they do a good job of disguising, so you just have to read things out. I don't know that there is anything that you say, 'We can't throw here, or we can't do this.' You just have to be careful in everything because they do a good job of camouflaging what they're in."
