HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (general comments) * *
"It's nice to be talking about a win again after a couple of weeks of coming up short. I thought we got the job done, especially in the fourth quarter. Not as smoothly as we would like. You have to credit Kansas City for a lot of that. We knew this was going to be a tough stretch. We have one more game on Thursday to kind of finish off this little stretch that we're in, and I think we'll be in good shape. We'll get some guys back this week and hopefully a few more guys back after that break. But we have to just continue to saw wood and play a little bit better, eliminate some of the mistakes that we made that have hurt us, hurt our drives and then hurt us a little bit defensively. All in all, I was pleased with the effort and the energy we had and we just have to play a little sharper."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on how the defense played)
"It was actually fine. We had some problems early in the run game and just getting that sorted out, but I thought our guys did well. We had one drive where we had a couple of errors, we kind of missed a coverage on a third-down play, we were offsides on a 2nd-and-10 that could have put them in 3rd-and-10, we had a ball that got caught in the end zone, a deep ball on another third down. The Chiefs played pretty conservatively on offense, but I thought we played okay."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on getting through this stretch of the season)
"This stretch, we had the Monday night road game, Sunday road game, then we came back, we had New England and then San Diego, late night, and then now the two games in four days. So we had about a five-week stretch that we knew was going to be tough, and if we can get through that and get ourselves a win this week, then we have a chance to get rested up to get some bodies back to normal. I think we'll be okay coming into December."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on being able to have a normal schedule after the Atlanta game)
"It should be a lot easier once we get through this Thanksgiving Day game, and I think guys are pointing to this. We need to have a good performance and go down there and figure out a way to get a win."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on DE-Simeon Rice's performance)
"It's hard to say. He didn't really get a lot of opportunities. Kansas City played a style that was tough. They threw the ball quick, tried to stay in 3rd-and-mediums, and (we) didn't get a lot of chances to rush. So I think so far, so good."
