HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (general comments following Monday's win vs. St. Louis)
"Obviously, we're excited about winning the game and going to 6-0 and winning in that fashion coming back from a deficit. Playing well in the second half was good. It was kind of a glass half-full, half-empty deal. I thought St. Louis played really well early. They came in with a plan, they executed well and they played just excellent football for a quarter-and-a-half. We played hard and played with a lot of passion and energy, but didn't really play sharp, and I don't know why that is. I think some of our young guys may have been hyped up with the Monday Night experience, especially on defense. We did some uncharacteristic things, not very smart football, but we made up for it with energy and effort and made a couple of big plays to turn it around. We punted the first time we had the ball and then didn't punt again the rest of the game. That was good to see. Our offense needed to bail us out and it was a good thing they did. Defensively, we made some plays and got the turnovers. We kind of reverted back to how we played last year where we gave up some big plays and just weren't real sharp. But the turnovers and the effort really saw us through. I thought special teams wise we played very well. They were a pretty good unit and we did a great job. Our kickoff coverage was outstanding all night, and the one chance we had to return, we got a nice 20-yard punt return. Other than Dominic (Rhodes) mishandling the first kickoff, but that's how the game went, early in the game we just didn't handle things well. But I'm very proud of them the way they came back and fought. So we got win number six which was big to keep us in first place and now we have a tough division game on the road again before our bye. Hopefully, we can play a little bit better than we played last week."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on what has been the key to the defense all season)
"Really the key so far has been a lot of energy. We're playing fast, we're playing at high-speed and we're helping each other out by really hustling. We haven't been fundamentally as sharp as we need to be and it showed up last night (vs. St. Louis) with a team that has weapons to exploit mistakes. But when you play as fast as we do and play with the energy that we do, you can make up for some things."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on approaching 100 wins)
"After the first one, it wasn't too bad. It took a long time to get that first one. It's been fun in both places. It's been great here obviously. We've had a pretty good run here the last three years. One hundred games is a lot to win, so hopefully it comes this week."
