HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on the defense vs. St. Louis' high-powered offense) * *
"Well, every week is a different challenge. I won't say this will be the best offense we'll play, but it certainly is the most explosive that we've played to date. And that's going to be the challenge this week, to keep those guys from exploding. Next week, it will be a different challenge. You want to see something different every week. We'll see how we are. We've been pretty good the last three or four weeks at keeping the big plays down. These guys will certainly be a test for that."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on having three Monday Night Football games)
"It says a lot about what people think of us and how they view us. Obviously we have some big-time players that the country wants to see, and that's really good. On top of that, I think we can show what our other guys are all about and what we are from a team point of view. I think that's the point our guys want to make Monday night."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on the effects of Mike Martz not being on the sideline)
"That's the thing that's really a kind of million dollar question. I think those guys are going to play really hard. When something like this happens, usually a team really wants to win that game and make the coach feel comfortable. What personality they're going to have, how (Offensive Coordinator Steve) Fairchild's going to call the plays, how (Interim Head Coach Joe) Vitt is going to do things in terms of gameday management, those are wild cards that we won't know until we get in the game. But one thing I know, they're going to play very hard."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on RB-Edgerrin James five games in)
"I think he's having the type of year we thought he would have. I thought he would have a big year, and I was looking for 1,700-1,800 yards at the beginning of the year. I figured he would average over 100 (per game) because of the way people were going to play us, if he stayed healthy. So far he has. He's running hard and he's touched the ball more than any back in the league, and he's delivering. So far he's right on schedule for what we need."
