Head Coach Tony Dungy Post-Practice Quotes

HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY(on the decision to have Hunter Smith kicking off) 11/5/04 “It’s something we’re going to try. We’re looking at different things, and we’ve done different things all year and we’ll continue to try different things.

HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY(on the decision to have Hunter Smith kicking off) 11/5/04

"It's something we're going to try. We're looking at different things, and we've done different things all year and we'll continue to try different things. So, really, it's just one of the things we're looking at to see if it will help us play a little bit better."

HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY(on how you play bigger wide receivers as a DB) 11/5/04

"You have to be ready for a physical game, because those guys, they make it physical. They're rough and tumble, and they want that contact. They come into you and create contact a lot. That's just the way the game's going to be. You have to be ready for it, and we practiced it a little bit out there. We put some of our tight ends out there at times in practice to simulate it. We'll hopefully have those guys ready."

HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY(on playing on Monday night) 11/5/04

"You always talk about Monday nights being special, because you are the one game that week, and it's a chance to show what you can do. It's a chance to highlight your city, if you have the home game. So, it's special, and you want to be ready. The Monday night games have been a lot of fun over the years. Especially for the guys that haven't played in them, they're probably different than any game until you get to the playoffs. From that standpoint, you still have to relax and know that it's just football. But, it is special."

HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY(on how the defense has come back in practice this week) 11/5/04

"We're practicing well, but we've practiced well all year, really. And now, we have to transfer that over into the game. We have to stay relaxed and do the things that we work on in practice and get them done in the games."

HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY(on Minnesota's size at wide receiver) 11/5/04

"They're just probably the poster child for big receivers. We have played against some guys that are big and physical and fast, these guys are just more so. What's the next level of good? What's the next level of big? What's the next level of fast? But, we've gotten prepared for it by some of the guys we've played against. Marcus Robinson is a really physically imposing guy, and (Randy) Moss obviously is, too. But, they'll get a first-hand look at big receivers on Monday."
