HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on how the secondary is looking for Sunday) 9/15/04
"We should be in good shape. We have Cory Bird cleared to practice. He did a good job today. He'll take Mike (Doss') spot. We should look just like we were for New England other than that one change."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on if the Colts will pass more with Tennessee's run defense) 9/15/04
"No, we have to do what we do, which is try to establish that run and get people to defend that, and then throw our play action passes and try to keep our third downs manageable. That's the same philosophy they have. So, I think the team that does what they do the best is going to win the ballgame."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on if he believes in rivalries at this level) 9/15/04
"It's definitely a rivalry. I think that's a thing that the league wanted to establish with these four-team divisions. You're going to play with high stakes and the division at stake every time you go up against Jacksonville, or Tennessee, or Houston. So, I think it is developing, and the fact that they won the division the first year, we won it the second year, it's so close, five hours apart…I think it is a good rivalry."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on the importance of this game for down the road) 9/15/04
"Well, you don't know what's going to happen, but certainly you're coming in, neither team has played a division game yet. You always want to have that lead. The division record is the first tie-breaker. So, it takes on big significance, no doubt about it."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on approaching this game after not having consecutive losses in 25 games) 9/15/04
"They just have to feel a sense of urgency, and usually, when you have professionals and solid guys the way we do, they are disappointed when they lose a game. They come out with a good focus, and so far we've done that."
