HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on getting on a winning streak going and if anything in particular goes into it) Thursday, November 04, 2010
"It is okay if I don't talk about streaks right now? I can tell you that probably more so than anything else the reason why, at some point in time you look to a point in the season where you have to be able to string some together, you have to. The way we do it is probably just the opposite of the way one may think. (It) is because of the fact we don't talk about it, don't think about it. All we do is look ahead at the next game, and only that game is what's important. And we try to do everything we can do to get ourselves in position to win the next one, because that's what counts. We don't deal with all of those things. I think on the periphery it makes good theater, but the fact of the matter is we cannot, and will not, look beyond the next opponent. Like we say, we go out, we play, let's add them up at the end of the season and see where we are."
HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on how you string together, 8, 9, 13 games in a row) Thursday, November 04, 2010
"You do that by focusing in on the task at hand more so than anything else."
HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on if you want to go where you want to go, at some point you have to get on a roll) Thursday, November 04, 2010
"Yes, and what that means, who knows? You can do it a variety of ways. We've in years past have had the focus and presence of mind just to kind of narrow everything down, reduce it to the lowest common denominator, just look at the next game, let's focus in on that game and see where we are afterwards."
HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on discussing in past seasons being undefeated into November, or putting streaks together at this point in the season) Thursday, November 04, 2010
"We've never even discussed it in that regard because so often around here, it's been done quite a few times, it's not unique in that sense. Some of these guys in the locker room have been on teams that have done it time and time again. That's not a real issue for us. What is an issue is Philadelphia. That's important. That's where our focus lies."
HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on WR-Blair White playing gunner on punts on Monday night) Thursday, November 04, 2010
"He's just a real determined guy. He's versatile, he's physical, he's a willing participant and has a lot of passion for what he does. He can play a number of different positions for us, which is great. He did well. He was effective. He works extremely hard at it. He's a tough guy to be denied. He did well."
HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on if Blair White could return kickoffs if Justin Tryon is not able) Thursday, November 04, 2010
"He could do it. We've worked him back there a little bit, but I'm not real certain at this time. That is a possibility."
HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on if there is any word on the injury to Anthony Gonzalez) Thursday, November 04, 2010
"Obviously he's being evaluated constantly. We just will kind of see how it goes. It's one of those things at this point in time that you have to let it play out and then see where we are."
HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on RB-Donald Brown getting through practice okay) Thursday, November 04, 2010
"Yes, and obviously he also got in the ballgame and played and had a good week of practice last week. So to follow it up with another good week is certainly encouraging."
HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on if Donald Brown's workload may increase Sunday from that of last week) Thursday, November 04, 2010
"I would anticipate it will."
HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on Austin Collie practicing on Wednesday) Thursday, November 04, 2010
"He looked pretty good. Yesterday, obviously he was running around well and caught the ball well. He's really coming along. That's one of the things, you talk about length of time and how long it's going to take and all of these kinds of things; you have to, as the doctors say, you treat what the injury is, but you also have to treat the player, the person, because sometimes they have the wherewithal, pain tolerance, cooperative skills, abilities to just come back a lot faster than what you ordinarily think. He's certainly one of those kinds of guys."
HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on Austin Collie catching a touchdown pass at Washington and playing the second half with his thumb injury) Thursday, November 04, 2010
"With that adrenaline flowing sometimes, that's why it takes maybe another 24 hours to kind of determine what your issues are."
HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on the Titans claiming WR-Randy Moss and what it means for the Titans and division) Thursday, November 04, 2010
"I can just comment on Randy Moss. I'm not one of those big projection guys that likes to look down the road and start gazing off into the future. I think there are issues that happen to you at that point. I'm not looking that far ahead. I can tell you we knew, before he went to Minnesota, we were going to face him at some point in time. It just so happens it's with a different team now. He is talented, can run and catch, and he's definitely a threat. The thing about this league, you see them every week. We had (Andre) Johnson last week, Jacoby Jones last week, you have (DeSean) Jackson this week. It's guy after guy after guy. Everybody has guys that can run and catch and do something with it when they get the ball in their hands."
HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on the secondary) Thursday, November 04, 2010
"They're steady. I think guys are continually getting a little bit better. Kelvin Hayden's making big plays for us, and Antoine (Bethea)'s playing extremely well and holding things together back there. Aaron Francisco is doing a nice job. Our corner situation on the other side is kind of in flux a little bit, a number of guys playing that position. But overall, I think they've been getting a little bit better each and every week."
HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on DB-Aaron Francisco settling down at the S position which has had its injuries) Thursday, November 04, 2010
"It was certainly a plus that he had been with us before, had not forgotten much of what he had learned and (the fact) was able to step right in and play was significant."
