"Obviously you have to look at past history, whether it's a personnel issue, if they've had a change in coaching staff, then you need to go back and look at where they came from, in terms of a systematic basis. For the most part we try to focus in on making certain that we're doing things the right way and adjust to your opponent. That's what the first game does for you. Then we have a game in the course of our four games where we prepare just like we would for our ball games so everybody gets a feel for the preparation, doing scouting reports and things of that nature, but this one is not quite as extensive."

"I think one of the things is just the experience in itself. You get a little bit more familiar with things. Things aren't happening quite as fast. The verbage is a little bit easier to handle. I think his role changes significantly simply because of the fact that he's a smart guy, he works hard and the time that he's put in you'll start to see it pay off."

"A big thing is we're looking for effort and execution. We have been focusing in more on their performance rather than results, in terms of the score board. Obviously we go out to win every single ball game, but I want them to focus in on their responsibilities, their duties. If we get that right and we take care of those little things, everything else will take care of itself."

"We're not quite certain what we're going to get in that regard. We certainly could without question. I know one thing is he's a very, very fine athlete. He throws the ball well. "There is always room for improvement, there's no question about that. I do think we have a good group of guys that have talent. We have experience. We just have to keep getting better, but we certainly feel good about where we are, and we certainly feel good about our potential."

"Overall I think you can even see in the meeting rooms those guys have certainly been through it and set an example in terms of how to prepare each and every day. They set a great example knowing how to take care of their bodies as well. That's an important thing during this time of the year, particularly that they're being stressed and challenged so much with the weather and obviously the frequency of practice as well. Those two guys do a tremendous job in sort of setting the pace for those young guys."
