HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (general comments) ChicagoBears vs. IndianapolisColts 8/20/07* *
"Well, another situation where we saw a lot of good things, but not enough good things. And saw some improvement by individuals that we were looking for, but obviously we still have some work to do and we are happy that we have two games left to get those bugs worked out. I thought we did some good things with our first group, some very physical play on defense. We moved the ball offensively, didn't score from the one-yard line, and that was disappointing. We turned it over several times with our second group. That was disappointing, and we didn't quite make the plays we needed to make to win. We had two long returns against us. There were some disappointing things we can work through. But all, in all we saw some good individual performances so we want to build on that."

"We have to be better. No question about it. We made some strides. I thought we outplayed Dallas in most of the return phase, kick, and cover phase last week. Today we didn't. We turned the ball over once, we gave them two long returns. We could have turned it over again with a mistake down there on our last punt return. So, we've got to be better. We have to improve that, but we are seeing some individuals do some things where I think we will be able to improve it. "

"Well, I don't know that I would be counseling him now. I guess I can't really look at the situation individually for him. It is just what it says about the league, and that is my concern. We have a lot of great things going on in our league. We have some guys doing some tremendous things. We have some guys in our locker rooms doing tremendous things. I am sure they have guys in the Falcons' locker room, I know one of them, Warrick Dunn, is doing some great things. Unfortunately, that voice and that part of it is not going to be heard. That is the thing all our players have to understand, is that anything that takes away from what the group is doing is tough. I don't know all the facts, I don't know what is going on there, but I know it has overshadowed a lot of great work that 99% of the guys in our league are doing."

"I thought our defense played well and did a good job on the running game. That
