HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on –Reggie Wayne’s consecutive game streak) Monday, August 11, 2010 “He’s been tremendous. Obviously anytime you have that length of time that you continue to show up week after week and perform at a high level, that’s special.

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on –Reggie Wayne's consecutive game streak) *Monday, August 11, 2010 *

"He's been tremendous. Obviously anytime you have that length of time that you continue to show up week after week and perform at a high level, that's special. He is a guy that takes great care of his body. He is very, very meticulous in terms of everything he does in relationship to this game. He studies extremely well. He knows his craft and he sets a great pace for the younger guys. To have a guy like Reggie out there every single day as a great blueprint for the rest of the guys to follow makes a tremendous difference."

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on –Jamie Silva) Monday, August 11, 2010

"Obviously he is certainly a guy that has a lot of spirit. He runs around and makes a lot of plays for us. It is tough to see a guy out for the entire season. He is a quality guy that helped us in a number of different areas."

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on –Curtis Painter's status) Monday, August 11, 2010

"(Curtis's) status is still the same, it hasn't changed. One of the things I think is that you have to take it all into consideration—how well they do in practice, how much material they know and understand, how they can regurgitate it, and obviously the performance is an issue as well. You have to look at everything that occurs. You all don't get a chance to see who was supposed to be where on what route, what was supposed to happen in this situation, and there are a lot of other factors that go into dropped passes and things of that nature. Sometimes I think one can get a bit ahead of themselves and not give an individual a fair shake. He is still our second-string quarterback. We believe in him. He is going to develop and grow. It just takes a little time. That is not an easy position to play."

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on –Tom Brandstater) Monday, August 11, 2010

"(Tom) is just coming along and we are getting a feel for him. Obviously, he came in a little bit late during OTAs, so he is getting a feel for our offense, and it was good to see him work yesterday."

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on –Silva's possible replacement) Monday, August 11, 2010

"There is always opportunity for someone to step in and do the job. There are some young guys that are out there that we are getting a feel for. (Mike) Newton is back there and I think he is developing and coming along. So we will see what happens on the next couple of days."

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on –Silva's special team contributions) Monday, August 11, 2010

"He did those particular areas, but he also did a bit more. He was pretty active and certainly a guy we could plug into a number of different areas."

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on –short week) Monday, August 11, 2010

"Every once in a while we have to face it in the regular season, so it gives us a chance to go through it again. We have gone through some Monday, Thursday ball games. What you have to do is cut back on the amount of hitting that you do during the course of the week. You have fewer practices in terms of preparation. Sometimes it's better because it makes you scale things back a little bit and it works in your advantage."

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on –Kyle DeVan and Jaimie Thomas) Monday, August 11, 2010

"Oftentimes we let guys rest a little bit to see how they do in terms of being evaluated and things of that nature. We will see here in the next day or so if we have a few of them come back and miss a practice or two."

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on –amount of injuries) Monday, August 11, 2010

"Anytime you are around this game long enough you are going to see situations that arise. Usually it is one or two positions a year. It just depends. This is a game of contact and heavy collisions. Thus, you are going to have some injuries. It is just like anything else. You have to move some things around and just keep on plugging."

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on –Devin Moore) Monday, August 11, 2010

"He is a guy that can do a multitude of things, it appears. We are going to move him around and let him return a few kicks this week and see what he can do. He looks like a guy with some energy. Obviously he provided some with a spurt here and there yesterday, but I think he is a guy with potential. We are going to take a good look at him."

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on –filling Silva's spot on the roster) Monday, August 11, 2010

"Any roster changes we have, we will announce them. We have not had any as of yet."

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on –absence of Antoine Bethea) Monday, August 11, 2010

"He had a death in the family. His uncle passed away."

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on –looking at the film) Monday, August 11, 2010

"Obviously, you get a better view of things.  There were a lot of real good things. I think our offense functioned extremely well at the onset. I think those were quite visible, but to watch the execution in our line play, (that) was very, very good. Protection was very solid. Joseph (Addai) had a great run there to take it into the end zone. We had a lot of things done really, really well. Peyton threw the ball well, obviously. It is a heck of an 89-yard drive. It is tough to put together one of 60 yards in this league, let alone 89 yards. All of those things are evident. Our defense played extremely well. They were tenacious. They were opportunistic. Antoine (Bethea) causing a fumble and getting the fumble recovered. We did a lot of things extremely well, a tipped ball interception with a great return. We covered well in our kicking game. So there were a lot of things that I saw that were very, very good. But then also there were some things that we have work to do."

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on – John Chick) Monday, August 11, 2010

"(John) is guy that certainly has some physical tools. He is long. He has power and he also has a great motor. I think that is one of the things, he just will not quit, but he's got a lot to learn. It was his first opportunity to play in this league against these particular tackles and how they operate. Every game is going to be a good learning experience for him, but he does have potential."

DB-MELVIN BULLITT  (on –teammate Jamie Silva) Monday, August 11, 2010

"(Jamie) is definitely important. It is important to have three and four guys who can really get in and play while keeping that same level of intensity and high level of play going. To lose Jamie Silva is a tough blow for us because he was by far one of our best special teams players."
