Indianapolis – The Indianapolis Colts and Lucas Oil Stadium tomorrow will unveil a lactation suite that will provide a new option for nursing mothers at a Colts game or another stadium event who prefer a private location to breastfeed or pump.
Created by Mamava, the suite is a self-contained, mobile pod with comfortable seating, a fold-down table, interior lighting, an electrical outlet for a breast pump, a USB port and a door that can be locked for privacy. The 4-by-8-foot pod is meant for individual use, but can fit more than one person, such as mothers with babies and other children in tow.
The suite will be located on Street Level near Section 132 in the southwest corner of the stadium.
In addition to the Mamava suite, the Mother's Room, another stadium location for breastfeeding or pumping, is located on the Loge Level next to the Lucas Oil Stadium administrative offices near Sections 307/407.
"We are so pleased to support moms with this new option during game days," said Kalen Jackson, Colts vice chair & owner, and a new mother. "Whether it's for fans, guests or stadium staff, the Mamava suite will give moms the chance to enjoy a game, while also providing them a clean, private location to care for their child if they so choose."
"We're thrilled to support breastfeeding mamas at Lucas Oil Stadium," said Sascha Mayer, co-founder and CEO of Mamava. "We believe that all mamas deserve a clean, comfortable and dignified place to use a breast pump or breastfeed distraction-free—anywhere, anytime. Mamava pods provide flexibility for facilities and easy access for moms."
