Colts DB Kelvin Hayden Blog-September 18
Our win last weekend against Jacksonville was huge, for a lot of reasons. It wasn't really announced that everybody wanted to get the win for Coach Caldwell, but you could really kind of tell that guys wanted to go out there and play for him and get that first win under his belt. And for the team to get off to a great start, 1-0 is so much better than 0-1. Now we're trying to work on being 2-0. We just want to continue to fight and scratch like we do, week in and week out, and continue to improve. This week's game at Miami is just another challenge.
When I saw the schedule and saw we were playing at Miami, I thought about the Super Bowl and the interception, but that was just about it, I thought about it. It's always going to be a special moment, making that play in that stadium, but I try to put it behind me as long as I'm playing. I don't want to linger on the past, I want to continue to build on that. I think that was more of my starting point. I want to leave that where it is, and I want to continue to improve. And hopefully, I'll make another play just as important as that one.
Playing on Monday night is special because it's an elite game. I remember they always used to put the Chicago Bears and the Packers game on Monday nights. It was a big deal in Chicago because everybody is a huge Bears fan. You're the only teams playing, so the whole world is watching, and you want to do your best, perform well and come out with the win. And hopefully this Monday, we'll do just that.
