Today, the Indianapolis Colts announced their 5th Annual Colts 5K Run/Walk, strengthened by Indiana University Health. Registration for the race, which will be held the morning of Saturday, August 26, at Lucas Oil Stadium, opens today at www.colts5k.com. A Kids' PLAY 60 Fun Run will also be held that morning at the stadium.
Early registration pricing is available through June 30, including $35 for the 5K and $15 for the Kids' Fun Run. A portion of the proceeds will benefit pediatric neurosurgery research via The Neurosurgery Foundation at Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine.
This is the fifth year the Colts have hosted a 5K Run/Walk at Lucas Oil Stadium. The 2016 event brought more than 4,500 runners and walkers to the stadium. The event was created to allow fans to share in the glory of the gridiron while supporting a healthy and active lifestyle by participating in a 5K run/walk. Fans can enjoy a Post-Race celebration that will feature live music, an awards ceremony, and food and drink specials.
Participants will have the opportunity to have their race packets mailed to them if they register before July 31. New to the event this year, participants unable to travel to Indianapolis can participate as a "Virtual Runner/Walker" and receive an official race shirt and finisher medal. Virtual participants are encouraged to use #Colts5K to show off their Colts pride as they run or walk a 5K wherever they live.
