**Colts Sign 4th-Year Veteran Receiver Baskett
**
INDIANAPOLIS- The
Indianapolis Colts added to the depth of their wide receiver corps
on Thursday, announcing the signing of fourth-year veteran Hank
Baskett.
Originally signed as an undrafted free agent out of New Mexico in 2006 by Minnesota, Baskett (6-4, 220) spent three-plus seasons with Philadelphia before being waived on September 15. He started 11 of 48 games with Philadelphia, totaling 72 receptions for 1,052 yards (14.6 avg.) and six touchdowns. He appeared in Philadelphia's Week One game at Carolina last Sunday, catching one pass for six yards.
Baskett started six games in 2008 and had 33 receptions for 440 yards and three touchdowns.
"I'm going to go out there and do what I can to help this organization," Baskett said. "They have a great organization and I'm excited to be able to come in and have an opportunity like the one that they've given me, to come in here and provide some assistance to this team. And I'm very excited about this.
"The whole organization here is known for winning, and that's a huge positive. To leave a good organization and to go to another powerful organization that is known for winning, that just makes this whole situation that much better."
