The Colts have signed free agent linebacker Nate Triplett, the club announced Wednesday. Triplett (6-3, 247, rookie) originally was a fifth-round draft choice in last April's draft by Minnesota. He also spent time on San Diego's practice squad.

COLLEGE: Three-year letterman who started 14 of 39 career games…started 13 games as senior…ranked second on team with 105 tackles…had 17 tackles and 52t FR vs. Air Force…was named Big Ten and National Player-of-the-Week for performance…17 tackles in one game were most by any Big Ten player all season…appeared in 13 games, starting one as junior…had 31 tackles, two passes defensed and one FR…also had one blocked kick…appeared in 12 games as sophomore…had nine tackles…earned Bobby Bell Award as team's top special teams player…appeared in one game as freshman…redshirted in 2005…holds degree in construction management.
