Finding out she earned a spot on the 2008 squad was the icing on the cake for this die-hard Colts fan. "I love dancing. I love performing. And I am obsessed with the Indianapolis Colts…so I figured there was no better way to combine these elements." For this Colts rookie, hearing the fans roar during the first home game was a feeling that cannot be matched.
Margot grew up in Indianapolis. She enjoyed being a member of the dance team during school and even performed in show choir. At DePauw University, she pledged Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and loved every minute of it.
Family plays a vital role in Margot's everyday life. "I was blessed with a magical childhood thanks to my loving parents and wonderful siblings." Now, she resides in Carmel with her husband and son, who turns two this spring. "He is a little bundle of energy, so he keeps me going!"
Although her schedule is often filled with family and work, Margot finds the time to enjoy reading, gardening and cooking. She is also an avid runner and loves working out. "I'm training for my first marathon!"
Joining the Colts organization was a dream come true for Margot. "I am so satisfied with the balance of family, work and pursuing my dream of Colts cheerleading that I can't imagine anything better!" She jokes that the hardest thing is controlling her emotions on the sidelines when the opposing team is winning. Margot says working with the cheerleaders has given her a newfound sense of poise and confidence.
Margot is already preparing for next season. "I live week to week through the NFL thinking about our next opponent and that game…once it's over, it's really hard to get back into the swing of things!" She will spend the next few months getting ready for tryouts and reminding everyone she meets, "The Colts have shown us time and again that they can come back from anything!"
