As a second year veteran with the Colts Cheerleaders, Jessie understands the dedication it takes to be on the squad. "It has really taught me how to manage my time between cheer, school, and work." She travels from her hometown of Mishawaka, IN, and Ball State University to attend practices, events, and games.
When Jessie came to the Colts last season, she was already well-versed in a various forms of dance such as tap, jazz, modern and hip hop. "I am currently a gymnastics and cheer choreographer for different gyms throughout the U.S. I have choreographed in Florida, Tennessee, Texas, Illinois, and Indiana."
Off the field, she enjoys working out, spending time with family and friends, and being out on the water. Her favorite childhood memories stem from summers at Lake Wawasee. Jessie also loves cooking. "If I could learn any skill it would be to cook and make everything taste delicious without using a recipe." After she finishes college, she dreams of, "…being a successful news anchor, owning a home and having a loving family."
Family plays a very important role in Jessie's life. Her mom's fight against cancer a few years ago dramatically changed her perspective. "My mom taught me that although life has many obstacles, you can always overcome them with a smile on your face while doing it." It is something Jessie says always stays in the back of her mind. "You never know what obstacles are in your future. So why not live your life to the fullest starting with today?"
Jessie says she is close with the other Colts Cheerleaders. "I feel that we are all just a big family that gets together to do what we all love to do for our favorite team." The whole squad enjoys bringing a part the Colts closer to the fans. "We are out in the community trying to show the fans how much we appreciate their support and dedication to our team." Although she says her favorite moment was last season at her rookie game against the Bears, she dreams of cheering for the Colts at the Super Bowl!
