Jessica is a true Hoosier who calls Greenwood, IN, home. As a
recent Indiana University graduate, she is excited to begin
student-teaching in the fall. Her goal is to become an elementary
school teacher, specializing in health education. Being a teacher
is a natural fit since she loves being involved with the community.
"I work with children at the YMCA and I help tutor kids at
local elementary schools."
Jessica's past dance experience includes four years of high school cheerleading and time performing on a competition squad. She is a second-year veteran with the Colts. Securing a position on the squad was a life-changing event. "It was an experience that allowed me to face my fears…now I know if I want to do something, there is nothing that can hold me back."
Being a Colts cheerleader means Jessica reaches out to Colts fans all over the state at appearances and private events. "It is extremely important to be on the top of our game so we are always representing the Colts in the best way possible." Last season, she helped the cheerleaders contribute over 1,500 hours of community service. "I want to spend my life helping others."
Like many of her teammates, Jessica formed lasting friendships with the other Colts cheerleaders. The girls help each other with everything from dancing technique, to makeup tips, to relationship advice. "It is a great feeling to know you have friends who will always be there for you!"
She is eager to continue her role as a "Sweetheart behind the Horseshoe" and is preparing for the start of auditions on May 9.
