Cheerleader Diary Aug 15th-22nd 2010

Sunday, August 15th, 2010

Hey Colts fans! Today was our first preseason game of the 2010 season! This meant I had to wake up at 5am, bright and early! We had to be at Lucas Oil Stadium at 6:30am. We first had practice with just the Cheerleaders, then the Junior Cheerleaders can out and we did our pregame routine with them a few times. Then once that was over, we were able to eat, which I was very hungry! Then I had some downtime before I had to get ready and go to Fan Zone to dance with some of my squad. After that we came back and kept getting ready for the game. Finally at 12:30p we had our prayer and went to the tunnel! It was so exciting to see all the fans in the stands while we waited in the tunnel. We did our pregame routine with the Junior Cheerleaders, which went by smoothly, and then started the game. My favorite part, by far, was the tunnel when the players run out! It is very thrilling and awesome to see some of the best players in the NFL run out right in front of you! All of our endzone and sideline dances went very well also; the fans seemed to like them too. Even though we lost (it's one preseason, so no worries), my first game as an Indianapolis Colts Cheerleader was amazing! After the game, I went to dinner with my family and then went over to my boyfriend's house to relax and watch TV and a movie. It was a very long, but thrilling Sunday! As my head hit the pillow, I was out. I slept very well after such a long day.

Today, I got up and went to LA Fitness to work out in the morning. I did some running and weight training for about an hour or so. I then came home, showered and got ready to head to lunch with one of my best friends. We went to the Cheesecake Factory, which is one of my favorite restaurants. I hadn't seen my friend really most of the summer because she did an internship in Cincinnati, so we ended up just chatting away for a good hour and a half while enjoying lunch. Since we were already in the Fashion Mall, we decided to shop around a little bit, one of my favorite things to do! I bought a new leather jacket, some perfume, and shoes! After shopping for a few hours, I came home and did some cleaning. Then later in the evening, my boyfriend and I went to the Indiana State Fair. It was loads of fun, especially walking through all the buildings and seeing different things and the livestock. I really enjoyed seeing the horses, because they are so beautiful. Also in the pig barn, they had two mother pigs and her piglets; they were so adorable! My boyfriend tried to win me a stuffed animal, but the game he played was rather hard, but funny. It was a great time spent together! I was so worn out from walking all around the fair, I needed some shut eye.

Good morning! I slept in a little today, because I was so tired. I then had to get up and head to Core Pilates for a cardio work out with our trainer, Sean. Some of the other girls were there too and it was a very hard, but great workout. We did ladder training, weaving in and out, and also did lots of jumping over low hurdle-like equipment. My calves are definitely going to be sore tomorrow, I can already tell! After the workout, I headed on home and started to organize my room. I just graduated from Indiana University, so all of my stuff from my house down there is in boxes and bags, so I am trying to get it all together and settle back into my house up here in Carmel. It is not fun at all! Moving is never fun. I just have a lot of things that I need to go through. Hopefully I can get it all done here soon! Then I had to get ready for an appearance at Colts City, the training camp up in Anderson! Five other girls and I went up from 5pm until 9pm and signed autographs and took pictures with the fans. I love doing the Colts City appearances because the fans are so excited to be there and to be up-close with all their favorite players! Luckily it was a much cooler night that is has been lately. This Indiana August weather just has not been fun at all! Because of the appearance, I was not able to go to practice, which is sad because I have lots of fun with all the girls on the squad. Once the limo brought us home from Anderson, it was pretty late; therefore I came home and got ready for bed. Good night Colts fans!

I slept in again today, but then had to get up to continue the organization of all my college stuff! It once again was not fun at all, but I am definitely making progress on everything. After doing that for a while, I had to go to Core Pilates again and work out with our trainer. I am already sore from the class yesterday, but I had to tough it out and continue the hard work! We did a lot of core and arm work today. I definitely feel as though the TRX workout today was tough. The TRX is basically ropes attached to the ceiling where you do tons of different things to work out your upper and lower body and core. My arms and shoulders are going to be very sore tomorrow! Then after my workout, I met up with a friend of mine and we went to dinner then to the State Fair, again, to see Jeff Dunham, the comedian who is a ventriloquist. The fair was packed tonight, much more so than Monday when I went. We go a Lemon Shake-up, which was amazing, and then headed to our seats which were the first row in the Hoosier Grandstands, so we had good seats. The show started with "Guitar Guy", who is a comedian who plays songs rather than just telling jokes. He was hilarious! Then we had to wait 15 minutes for Jeff Dunham, but he finally came on. He was hilarious, I could not stop laughing. My favorite doll he used was Peanut. It is crazy how great of a ventriloquist Jeff was. I had an absolute blast during the show. All the laughing made my abs hurt even more! Once the show ended, we got back to my car and I dropped my friend off and went home. Another long day, therefore I fell asleep rather easily!

Again today I headed to Core Pilates to do another workout with our trainer. This class was strictly a toning class. It worked my abs, arms, and legs. It definitely will add to the soreness my body is feeling right now! After the workout, I had to run some errands. I went to the bank and Meijer for some groceries. While I was there I noticed they have some awesome Colts attire and accessories. I had to stop myself from buying it all! After all my errands, I went home and did a little more organizing and cleaning. Soon it will all be done! After that, I took a short nap before I had to get ready for practice. At 6pm, we started our practice at the Colts practice fields. It was very hot and humid in the field, which is never fun. We started out by cleaning our pregame for our first regular season game! It is a great dance and I will not give away the song, so all of you fans are surprised! Then a former cheerleader taught us our pregame for the last preseason game. There are lots of technical moves in it, but I love the dance! It is to an awesome song, I know all the fans will love it too. Once we learned the whole dance, we then had our normal Thursday work out with Sean. It was so miserably hot though. It was hard to do the workout, but I pushed through. Then after practice, I went home and immediately showered. After that, I headed over to my boyfriend's house to just relax. He even was nice enough to give me a back massage since my shoulders and back are sore from all the workouts this week. I better get some shut eye because I have another workout in the morning! Good night Colts fans!

I woke up and headed to Core Pilates for a Yoga class. It was definitely helpful in stretching me out since I am very sore still. It also was very relaxing and relieved some stress I had. Then I had to run home and get a Cheerleader Calendar to give to one of my friends from high school who is giving it to her husband for a wedding present! After I did that, I went to LA Fitness to run for a little and hopefully loosen up my muscles. Today, I tackled my closet! It was a major task. At least all this organizing is getting completed! I had to run some more errands today and then took a little nap after I went to Sun Tan City. Then I headed over to my boyfriend's house and his parents, he, and I went out to Puccini's for dinner. We came back and just relaxed the rest of the evening. It was a good day!

Saturday, August 21st, 2010

Woke up bright and early and headed to Core Pilates for our reformer and TRX class. I am still over sore, so it made working out today a little harder than normal. I went home and did some more organizing and just hung around my house for the rest of the day. That night, a bunch of the other cheerleaders and I celebrated three birthdays that were this week. It was great to hang out with everyone outside of practice! We had lots of fun. Also the birthday cakes that were made were delicious! After such a long day, once I hit the pillow, I was out! Good night Colts fans!

Sunday, August 22nd,2010

Sundays are typically my resting days. I relaxed all day basically. My boyfriend started cooking dinner around 1pm because he was cooking a brisket, which took about 6 hours to cook! During this time, we cleaned the lights on my car and now they look brand new. Then we cooked the rest of the dinner, which I ended up making chocolate covered strawberries, which were amazing! His uncle, aunt, parents, and a friend all came over for the dinner! My boyfriend's brisket was amazing. He did a great job. Then after dinner we played some corn hole, which his uncle and I won just about every time. It was a great relaxing day, which I needed. Now onto a hectic week! Thanks for reading about my week Colts fans! See you all at the games this season. Go Colts!
