Danetha is a recent DePauw University graduate working locally as a mortgage loan officer. "[I] assist individuals financing a new home purchase or looking to refinance their current home." After spending a year on her college Pom Squad, she brought her talent to the Indianapolis Colts. She always wanted to dance for a pro team, and can proudly say she is enjoying her second season as a Colts Cheerleader.
Born in Plainfield, New Jersey, Danetha spent a lot of time moving throughout her childhood. It was an experience she says truly shaped her life. Some of her favorite memories stem from road trips with her family. During that time, she developed the "travel bug" and is excited to explore exotic places like Italy, Greece, Liberia and Japan in the future.
Her hobbies expose a wide range of talents and interests. She loves sewing, modeling, chocolate, producing and marketing documentary films and eventually wants to be fluent in four other languages. As she gets older, she dreams of being a financial resource to minority children going to college and even opening a community youth center.
Being part of the squad has been a positive experience for Danetha. It helps her stay active, which is a vital part of her life. "I was teased as a child for being really skinny. So I picked up sports and rented 'grown-up' workout videos to get muscular and get bigger." Cheering on the Colts helps her maintain a strong sense of discipline and confidence.
For Danetha, one of the highlights of this season was attending the "All Pro 3" dance convention in Atlanta this past June. That opportunity helped strengthen dance skills and form lasting friendships among the cheerleaders. They taught her, "always be classy and gracious," no matter what! She loves representing the Colts and always keeps a bright smile on her face. "It's a wonderful feeling to be a part of a successful and well-respected organization."
