This past year proved to be a fresh start for this Elkhart, Indiana native. "Shortly after making the squad, I relocated to Indianapolis, began college at IUPUI and started an entirely new chapter to my life." Amy loved her first season as a Colts cheerleader!
Being a rookie meant hours of extra practice and true dedication, but Amy would not change the experience for the world. Hearing her name called at the 2008 Final Audition Showcase filled her with excitement, nervousness and tears of joy. "If only I could bottle that moment up and share it with everyone I would!"
Amy stays busy as a full-time student, studying toward a degree in exercise science. She also spends plenty of time working out at the gym and loves cooking new, healthy recipes. "When I really have free time, I will sew or do crafty things!" Amy enjoys anything that includes her family and friends. She often reminisces about her youth and developing a love of the outdoors. "My grandparents lived in a country area and I would run and play outside all summer long with my siblings."
Joining the Colts was an opportunity for Amy to form friendships with the rest of the squad. "They have taught me many things from dances, to makeup tips, to daily life situations. It is definitely the greatest experience to be around all these wonderful women…" Being a Colts cheerleader is something she believes will impact her life in many ways.
This season proved to be a great experience for Amy. "I am constantly saying what a wonderful organization I am involved in and how great it is to be an Indianapolis Colts cheerleader!" She hopes to continue her role as a "Sweetheart behind the Horseshoe" for years to come.
