C-JEFF SATURDAY (on how he feels) * *
"Good. I'm just working day-to-day, rehabbing (my knee) up and trying to get back as quickly as possible."
"I do the best I can to tough it out, that's for sure. It's a day-to-day thing, just working everyday at rehab to get it back strong and see what we can do with it."
C-JEFF SATURDAY (on if he has an idea of how long he will be out)
"I do not. I let them decide. All you can do is your rehab and progress the way they want you to progress. When it's time to go, I'll be ready to go.
"We are at the point where I'm letting it heal by itself. If anything were to happen, that can be an issue but that's not what we are going to do. I'm not going to go get surgery. Unless something else happened to it, I'm going to stay with the way it is now."
C-JEFF SATURDAY (on if surgery will be an option at some point) September 4, 20088
"No, no, no. If you don't do it, you don't do it. It would've been something I would've had to do or already went and done. The doctors here decided – I had another opinion as well – and all the doctors agreed that time heals it and there's no reason to go and do something invasive unless it's an absolute necessity, and that's not what they felt like."
C-JEFF SATURDAY (on if he feels progress)
"Absolutely, every day. I feel better and everything is moving along. I'm in twice a day doing rehab and I feel like I'm on a great program. I'm doing what I'm supposed to do to get ready."
C-JEFF SATURDAY (on if he will have to be eased in when he does return)
"I hope not. Hopefully, when you come back, you're ready to go. That's kind of the motto we've had here and I'm sure we'll stay to it. I'm working as hard as I can to get it where it's as normal as it can be. I'm sure that I'll have to play with some type of tape or brace or something, but if you look around the league a lot of lineman do it anyway. It's just something that I haven't had to do, but I would do it if that's what they asked me to do."
C-JEFF SATURDAY (on the timetable for his return)
"I have no idea. You have a progression, obviously, that you have to go through to pass from the team's perspective. Once you do that, it's (Head Coach) Tony (Dungy's) call and (team president) Bill (Polian's) call, 'He looks good, he's ready to play.'"
C-JEFF SATURDAY (on how much he can help the younger guys on the OL)
"You can do a lot. You share keys that you pick up on. I know just watching Jamey (Richard) through practice and telling him just little technique things that he can pick up on. He'll do fine. Everybody who goes in, we play well as a unit. He'll talk and do the job that he's supposed to do and I think he'll play a good football game for us."
