HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (opening comments) * *
"The one real, real positive we got out of (Sunday) night was obviously the opening of the new stadium, and I thought that part of it was good. Not many glitches in terms of what we had to do with the stadium. It was fantastic and, as I said, that was the best part of the night. I wish we had played a little bit better to christen it, but we didn't and we'll go to work on that.
"There were some positive things and individual performances, but it really came down to Buffalo converting on third downs and us not converting, Buffalo protecting the ball and not turning it over and us turning it over five times. That was the difference in the game. It's hard to win NFL games when you're minus-five in give away, take away, regardless of what else happens. We'll look at it and try to get those corrections made. An encouraging thing was we got (DE) Dwight Freeney and (DB) Bob Sanders back in action. They did a good job and got through it OK. It was good to see them back. We'll probably get a couple more people back this week and keep rolling. All in all, we just have to continue to improve and take care of the football a little bit better and we'll be in pretty good shape."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on if C-Jeff Saturday will be available for the season opener against Chicago)
"I still don't have a complete handle on it, but neither (DB) T.J. Rushing or Jeff Saturday will be able to play this week (vs. Cincinnati). We'll see what the long-term look is a little bit later on. I have not talked to the doctors on the MRI results. (QB) Jim Sorgi also got an MRI (Monday), and I don't have those results either. We'll probably have a little bit better idea (Tuesday)."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on who he anticipates getting back to practice this week)
"I think we have a chance to get (TE) Tom Santi back and get him going. We have a chance to get (QB) Peyton (Manning) activated and actually out at practice, so we'll see how that goes, also."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on if he plans on activating QB-Peyton Manning on Tuesday)
"Right now, that's probably the plan."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on if QB-Peyton Manning will be eased back)
"I think we'll ease him in and see how he practices and what he's able to do and we'll see from there."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on if QB-Peyton Manning will play Thursday vs. Cincinnati)
"Probably not on a short week and with everything else that's going on health-wise. I don't think so, but we'll see."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on the plan behind C-Jeff Saturday)
"We'll look at it and see once we get the estimate of how long it's going to be. We have a lot of guys that could play in there. We have three young centers and then we also have guys that could move in there if it was more of a long-term thing with some of our veteran guys. (OG) Ryan Lilja is practicing there, so we'll see, but it's still a little too early to project. If it's just one game, we'll probably just roll (C) Steve (Justice) in there and go."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on if OG-Ryan Lilja could return this week)
"I don't know that y
